Coffee Is A Must!

I know that everyone thinks I have this stellar personality. "Wow Brandon, you're so ON, all the time!" Well it's really because I'm friggin jacked all day on Columbia's finest. I go through two pots a day easy before I hit the boxing gym at 7am. Get home, back to work, another pot. Say I do a house call that night at 5pm somewhere in the city. If my client offers me a coffee, I'm definitely saying yes! Here I am shooting photos for the brand on the street, in the Summer on Fairfax and I had to have my coffee to go. Funny thing after this shoot my nice chrome coffee mug disappeared on me. You never know what could happen out here. It's a friggin jungle! The guy holding the camera had to take this snap of me downing my java like it was my last in between shots. I don't know why I'm sharing this with all of you. Maybe because my soon to be filled coffee pot it sounding quite delicious at the moment.

Okay so I'm a control freak. I just absolutely love shooting photography for my brand and am so appreciative that I can. Fortunately I don't have to go far. Now that I am back in Hollywood, the never ending city backdrops keep calling out to me every time a shoot a new model. I think I wear these models out as I just want to shoot and shoot. The craziness of the streets, the painted walls every time I turn a new corner. It feeds me in ways that only an artist with a hunger to do dope shit would understand. Fairfax is a dirty, interesting, colorful and eclectic street and that's exactly the fuc@&?! way I like it!

I think I love photography a touch more that doing hair. At least for now I do. I'm so appreciative that I can do more than just hair. Not that hair doesn't satisfy me but there is so much more out there and I intend to devour every last bit of it. Check out these photos I took for Ra Bar Beauty in Beverly Hills. These beautiful creatures who are known for creating other beautiful creatures, are on the path to stardom! Branching off from Warren Tricomi LA last year, they have quickly moved up the ranks in Hollywood hairstyling! Mixing their own hair oil treatments in-house is what I call Organic Genius!

As an artist, providing different types of services for your friends / clients can be quite lucrative if you know what you're doing. My really good friend and brother from another mother Chad Cantu, owns a very successful salon with his beautiful wife, who might know a thing about hair as well, Marietta Cantu. Photography And Hair!

Bridging the gap between Photography and Beauty has been an amazing adventure on so many levels! As a hairstylist, I never just wanted to do haircuts, or just do color. I have always wanted to create the entire picture. Now I can, literally! Being able to jump in and fix the hair on my own shoot is priceless! What's even more priceless is that I can use my own product to style the hair.

 Here is a head shot I took for Catalyst Solutions in Denver, Colorado. Regardless of these pictures being corporate head shots, I always want to make my subjects look as sexy as possible. I blew her hair out with my Leave It In, Leave In Conditioner, then after it was dry before shoot time, I wrapped her hair with and inch-an-a-quarter Hot Tools curling iron while spraying my Spray Harder, firm-hold hairspray on each section. Those two products are the reason for the amazing shine and bounce that the hair had during our Catalyst Solutions photo shoot.
